When was the last time you and your hubby acted silly and immature with one another? In fact, how often do you engage in this manner together? My husband and I had one of those moments precisely last night. And although Nabor is the silly one constantly making me laugh on a regular basis (as miserable as I can be sometimes), he inspired me to share this particularly funny moment of ours with you!
“You don’t always have to be so serious!”, he said. “Give ‘em a laugh and in the process you’ll remind them how important moments like these are to keep that spark lit in their marriage”, he continued. And he’s right! Empowering others through inspirational content can also mean just making your day even if it’s just with a cute story that will make you laugh, and motivate you in the proccess!
As bed time approached, Nabor was changing baby Jose on the changing table and I was changing our 2 yr. old Daniela on her bed. She took off her dirty socks as I reached for her freshly laundered clothes and she started touching her dirty feet. -Ew! Like, literally picky at ’em.
Before I could say anything she lifted her hand into her mouth! Then I went, “Aw heelll naaww”!
Just kidding, of course I didn’t react like that. At least not out loud! But did say (yell):
-“EW!! DON’T DO THAT! YA LITTLE NASTY!!! WHO TAUGHT YOU THAT??”
“MOMMY!!”, said Nabor before I even finished.
-“Heck no, I never did these things! Remember I never even as far as picked my nose”! (True story. I still have memory of my cousin trying to get me to pick my own boogers as she smeared hers across the back window of our car when we were only preschoolers. But that’s another story).
“You know you did! And you ate ‘em too! That’s what all normal kids do!”
-“Well I didn’t so that’s what makes me special then. It’s why you married me”.
“Nope I couldn’t be with you like that. If I had ever known from the beginning that you had never picked your nose and ate your boogers, I never would have married you”!
Well, my husband hasn’t left me. And at this point in my life there is no one who will reach in my nostrils to free the poor things when those buggers are in the way. So since we’re already married, it’s ok to take care of that right in front of him now I am fully aware he won’t leave me for another woman that doesn’t occasionally stick her pinky up her nose ☺
