What was the last thing you did to re-energize and reset yourself?
Have you worked on that at all? Between wiping butts, boogers and sticky fingers, as well as the energy you invest teaching them to be empathetic, responsible and independent little human beings, there are moments when you just need to peace out and recover your own peace!
“Yeah uh-huh and just when would I do that, hm”?
Believe it or not lack of time for ourselves is a BIG FAT LIE!
Don’t believe me??
I dare you to think of 1 or 2 things you do on a daily basis without fail. Facebook? A t.v. show you can’t miss for a day? Scroll Instagram? If you shook your head yes to any of these, there is your proof! Proof that you are disciplined! Checking Facebook for a few minutes a day without fail is a discipline! So, why should self-care be any different??
Sometimes the kiddos will nap, sometimes hubby will take over when he’s home or your mom will be at your house. Whatever the circumstance, if it gives you 15, 30 or 60 minutes, take it!
“Well, girl the dishes ain’t gonna do themselves”.
Umm…believe me I know how that works. But get this, the dishes don’t do themselves but just like that, if you don’t take care of you, no one will. Worse yet you won’t be able to do it for others if you don’t acknowledge yourself first.

So if your child ends up in therapy because he didn’t grow up in a spic and span house, then kindly refer me back to this post 😉 In the meantime checkout this list on ways to pamper yourself, even when you have ‘no time‘
If you have up to 10 or 15 minutes:
Set the tone in your home or what room or area you choose to spend time in
Play some chill music you usually don’t listen to that you know will relax you
Turn on some fragrant candles around your home
Have yourself an adult beverage in a fancy glass
Fragrance goes a long way in triggering sense of joy and pleasure. Get a very nice beautiful smelling body cream and just fully soothe yourself in it!
Sit outside. Whether it’s to watch a sunrise, a sunset, or just to breathe in a sense of freshness!
Gaze at the stars at night
Have a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
Lay on your back on the grass. Best. Feeling. Ever.
Enjoy special time with a pet
If you have 30 minutes:
Run a DIY tropical stovetop fragrance or diffusor
Read that good book that’s been gather layers of dust
Catch up with a friend via phone call without once addressing the words “tantrum” or “play date”
Make yourself a delicious and appealing desert
Write a list of things you’ve accomplished and look at it when you’re feeling discouraged.
If you have 60 minutes:
Remember a favorite show of yours that has been no longer broadcasting on T.V. for years and binge watch on YouTube
Watch social experiments, pranks, lady hacks, animal videos, funny videos, etc . on YouTube
Take a long leisurely, hot bubble bath
Prepare your favorite dish
Doll yourself up for no apparent reason
Put the kids in bed an hour extra early, then do what you please
Just be with your husband and be like, “what do you say today we just …(and then whatever it is you wanna do)”
On a general routine:
Have a real bouquet of fresh flowers in your home to enhance a sense of vitality and freshness to your home environment!
Give yourself grace and clear your schedule for a day
Make sure you have a mom only space in your house, not one children’s thing in site
Always have ice-cream in your freezer. In won’t be pretty when you’re craving as soon as the kids are in bed and you can’t go out for one then. Trust me on that one!
And my ultimate favorite…
Wear one thing (or multiple things) that makes you feel like a goddess. Be it nail polish, make-up, jewelry, perfume, a sassy hairstyle, you name it. If it makes you walk like a queen, put that stuff on like a boss and slay the day like a diva!
